Asia-Pacific trades higher following China data

Major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded higher, as the latest data indicated that the Chinese services sector improved in September. Meanwhile, further talks to ease tensions between China and the United States continued, as the prospect of the two heads of countries meeting continues to improve.

The Nikkei 225 gained 2.26% at 4:47 am CET, with the dollar trading 0.20% higher changing hands for ¥111.8500 a minute later. The Kospi Composite increased 0.34% at 4:49 am CET, as the S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.83% at the same time.

In mainland China, both the Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Composite registered gains, increasing 0.63% and 0.86% respectively at 4:49 am CET. Over in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng was up by 0.14% at 4:50 am CET.
